Abhijeet Banerjee, Nobel Laureate Speaks To Rahul Gandhi: Spending Is Fastest Way To Revive Economy

Abhijeet Banerjee, who is currently the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was in conversation with Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on May 5. Gandhi interviewed Banerjee on the measures needed to revive the Indian economy which has come to a near stand-still due to the country-wide lockdown imposed by the Central government to control the spread of coronavirus. Banerjee, is an Indian-born American economist who along with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer, was awarded the 2019 Nobel Prize for Economics.
