12-Year Old Dies After Walking For 150 Km From Telangana To Reach Her Home In Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

A 12-year-old girl died after travelling for close to 150 km on foot to reach her home in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. Jamlo Makdam, a daily-wage labourer who worked in Telangana’s chilly fields, collapsed and died just an hour away from her village. Thousands of migrant workers, stuck far from home during the lockdown and left without jobs and means to earn their daily bread, have attempted long journeys on foot.
