New Delhi, July 14: YouTube has introduced a new feature on its YouTube Shorts platform, which might closely resemble TikTok’s text-to-speech capability. The YouTube Shorts new feature is expected to improve user experience and catch up with competitors. The text-to-speech feature could enable YouTube creators to add narrations to their videos without recording their own voices. It is said to make the content creation easier and more accessible. The feature might attract more users to YouTube Shorts and compete directly with TikTok.

As per a report of Hindustan Times, YouTube has rolled out several new features for YouTube Shorts. The text-to-speech feature is anticipated to provide creators with more tools to enhance their videos.  YouTube continues to incorporate popular TikTok features, such as live video previews in the Shorts feed. Additionally, YouTube has introduced new effects, including Minecraft-themed filters to keep the platform fresh. YouTube AI Generated Content Policy Update: Google-Owned Video Platform Now Lets Affected People To Request Removal of Content That Simulates Their Face or Voice.

YouTube Shorts New Features

YouTube Shorts now offers a text-to-speech video narration feature, which allows users to include an artificial voiceover in their videos. As per reports, the feature is similar to the robotic voices commonly heard in TikTok videos. To use it, users should create their text, tap on the "add voice" icon located in the upper-left corner of the screen and choose one of the four available voices. YouTube has also introduced new Minecraft effects by including a green screen game-themed background and a fun minigame called Minecraft Rush. Google Maps New Feature Update: Tech Giant Rolls Out Speedometer and Speed Limit Feature for iPhone, Apple CarPlay Users; Know How To Use.

YouTube's efforts to enhance Shorts videos with these new features are expected to encourage more creators to the platform and increase engagement. YouTube has also introduced a new feature that automatically adds captions to videos, so that users don't need to use other apps like CapCut anymore. The feature will allow creators to customise the captions by selecting various fonts and colours. It is similar to the existing option for manually adding text overlays in YouTube Shorts.
