San Francisco, August 16: Google-owned YouTube is testing a new design 'blurred bottom bar' for Android platform. The new YouTube design is expected to offer the Android users a new look platform's Android mobile app. The feature is aimed to improve the navigation for the users with subtle changes. The reports also said that the Google's video platform was also changing the design of some of the buttons.

For now, the users may find see the bottom navigation with solid colour which differentiates the video content and screen elements on YouTube. With the changes implemented, YouTube's bottom bar on Android could become more dynamic and colourful with its tweaked icons for Home and Subscriptions. Google AI Overviews To Arrive in Six Countries Including India With Country-First Features.

According to reports, the new look of the bottom navigation bar would offer translucent effect and would show the background feed. The Plus button which is seen currently for adding shorts, videos, start video live and post, would not have a ring round the "+"

Currently, the navigation bar on the YouTube's mobile view shows the Home button, Shorts, Plus button, subscriptions and You for account. The Home button would remain unaffected by the new changes of the updated design. Also Shorts button, Subscription and "You" button for account would be placed at the same positions as before.

According to reports, the UI tweak on the bottom bar would be just like the iOS where the minimal design is on the focus. The company redesigned the Home and other buttons following the same "minimalism" in the mind. YouTube was reportedly testing other features like "built-in sleep timer" for premium subscribes and "mini player redesign that might work like PiP (Picture-in-Picture). Further, the company was said to be testing a Community Notes' like feature.
