As per a report of The Verge, Google appears to be working on a background playback feature for its YouTube TV streaming service. The background playback feature is common in YouTube’s premium service but has not been a part of YouTube TV until now. Once released, users will be able to continue listening to shows or live streams, even when they want to switch to another app or lock their smartphone. However, Allison Toh, product communications manager at YouTube, has reportedly stated that the company is actively working on adding the background playback feature to YouTube TV.
