San Bruno, September 19: YouTube has released a new feature called "Hype," which helps small creators get more reach on the platform. YouTube Hype helps video creators who are just starting out grow without depending upon the platform's algorithms. The 'Hype' feature was announced during the Made on YouTube event alongside a series of updates for people to boost their creativity, drive business, and connect with others.

YouTube Hype was one of the highlighting features aimed at budding video creators on the platform. YouTube said that every day, new creators across the globe get their breakthroughs on the platform by making videos on cooking, gaming, music, makeup and so on. However, smaller creators, even those with a dedicated fanbase, struggle to get new views. In its blogYouTube explained that Hype was created to help such individuals. New WhatsApp Hacking Scam: How Cybercriminals Using OTP Message To Hack Into WhatsApp Accounts and What You Should Do for Protection.

YouTube Hype: How Does it Work for Small Video Creators

YT said, "If a video's been out less than seven days from a creator with under 500,000 subscribers, you can "hype" it – and go beyond liking and sharing." The more Hype the video gets, the higher it could climb on the new leaderboard where "top 100 hyped videos from the week" would be featured. YouTube said that anyone could hype up videos thrice a week. However, in the future, the platform said it would allow fans to purchase additional hypes and unlock other revenue streams for the creators.

The platform said that hyping would not affect the recommendations and search results. The creators could benefit from using the YouTube Hype feature to get on the top of the leaderboard in their respective countries and get new audiences to watch their videos. Besides, the platform said it added a "small creator bonus" built in. Hype would not all be about the leaderboards - only a way views letting the creators know what content they vibe with the most. Plus, top hyped-videos would receive a special badge. Jio Offering 2 Days Complimentary Unlimited Plans to Users After Recent Outage, Netizen Share Screenshots of Receiving Message.

YouTube said it surveyed more than 2,500 viewers between 18 and 25 years of age in countries like the US, Japan, and Germany. It found that 75% of the respondents and over 80% of the Gen Z viewers were positive about helping the small and medium-sized creators to grow their channels. YT said  "Hype" was like crowdfunding that directly contributed to the creator's videos. YouTube Hype would be tested as a beta in countries like Brazil, Turkey and Taiwan for future expansion and likely be introduced in other parts of the world at a later stage.
