Last week, Xiaomi launched two new smartphones - Note 8 and Note 8 Pro under its sub-brand Redmi Note 8 Series in India. Both the new smartphones went on sale today via Amazon India, Mi.com and Mi Home Store. It is important to note that the smartphones will not be available via Flipkart anytime soon. With a massive demand for smartphones, both the devices went out of stock in less than 30 seconds. The next sale for the smartphones is slated for tomorrow. As a part of the launch offer, the e-retailer is offering an instant discount of 10 percent via Axis Bank and Citi Bank credit and debit cards. This offer is also valid on the EMI option. All RuPay cards will also get 10 percent instant discount.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Redmi Note 8 gets a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch upfront whereas the Note 8 Pro phone packs a 6.53-inch display with FHD+ resolution carrying a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the Note 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC whereas Note 8 Pro is equipped with MediaTek Helio G90T gaming chipset. For photography, there is quad-camera setup on the back of Redmi Note 8 which comprises of a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.8 lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 lens, a 2MP sensor with f/2.4 macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 8 Pro also gets a quad-camera unit at the back. It consists of a 64-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/1.9 lens while the other sensors are similar to Note 8 phone. At the front, the Redmi Note 8 is loaded with a 13MP snapper whereas the bigger phone gets a 20MP camera unit with aperture f/2.0.

Both the devices run on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, we can expect Android 10 OS update soon. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs 9,999 whereas the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version costs Rs 12,999. On the other hand, the base variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage retails at Rs 14,999. The other two variants of the phone are priced at Rs 15,999 (6GB + 128GB) and Rs 17,999 (8GB + 128GB).
