Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi A2 & Redmi Y2 India Prices Slashed by Rs 1,000
Xiaomi India has decided to cut the prices for Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Y2 and Mi A2 due to decreased input costs.
We previously reported that Xiaomi has emerged as the number one smartphone brand in the Indian market for the third quarter of the year 2018. As per the report from IDC, the Chinese smartphone maker became the number one brand for the fifth consecutive quarter. Celebrating this milestone, the smartphone maker has decided to slash the prices of the three smartphones in India by Rs 1000. The price cut for the three smartphones has been possible due to the reduction in prices for its component cost, said the company. Thus, the phone maker decided to pass on the benefits to its customers by reducing the rates by Rs 1000 on the three smartphones. The new prices of the smartphones came into effect from 12 pm IST today, across all retail platforms. Xiaomi Increases Prices For Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Bugdet Smartphones in India.
As the phone maker has reduced the prices of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro by Rs 1000, the 4GB RAM variant which was priced earlier at Rs 14,999, will be sold at Rs 13,999. Similarly, the 6GB RAM version, will be sold at Rs 15,999 instead of Rs 16,999.
On the other hand, Xiaomi’s second Android One device - Mi A2 (4GB RAM) is now priced at Rs 15,999, which was launched with a price tag of Rs 16,999. The bigger variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage now retails at Rs 18,999 in spite of Rs 19,999. Moreover, the third smartphone – Redmi Y2 also sees a price drop of Rs 1000. The handset with 4GB of RAM is now priced at Rs 11,999. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Launched in China & Indonesia; India Launch Likely This Month.
As a reminder, the Chinese smartphone maker had previously increased the prices for Note 5 Pro variant earlier this year because of hiked import taxes and rupee depreciation. The new price introduced by Xiaomi brings the costs of the smartphone to the launch price.
