Redmi 7A entry level smartphone from the Chinese smartphone brand will be launched today in the Indian market. To be introduced as a successor to Redmi 6A, the new smartphone will be essentially a tone-down version of Redmi 7, which is already on sale in China. The new handset is dubbed as 'Smart Desh Ka Smartphone', which will be retailed online through Flipkart and Mi.com. Specification-wise, the upcoming Redmi 7A phone will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset. The chipset will be clocked at 1.95 GHz that will be mated to up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal space. The device will be equipped with a 5.45-inch IPS LCD display carrying a resolution of 720X1440 pixels and aspect ratio of 18:9. The handset will be made available in three versions depending upon the configurations offered - 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage.

In the camera department, the phone will carry a single 13MP rear sensor with LED flash and features like AI, PDAF fast focus, AI beauty and AI background blur. The front camera on the smartphone will be a 5MP camera for selfies and video calling. To run Android Pie OS based on MIUI 10 OS, the smartphone will be backed by a huge 4000 mAh battery along with a standard 10W charger. The connectivity options on the smartphone will be carried out by 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a Micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the pricing, the new Redmi 7A smartphone is likely to be priced around Rs 6,000, which is similar to that of Redmi 6A. Some rumours also hint that the Redmi 7A prices will be similar to the one the China version, which starts from RMB 549 (around Rs 5,500).
