Xiaomi, a well known Chinese smartphone manufacturer is likely to launch a slew of new products in China this month. On Monday, Founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun posted an image of the upcoming smartphone on Weibo website hinting the arrival of the device by the end of July. The teaser image features a retail box mentioning just the model name - Mi Max 3. Apart from that, the post does not reveal any details about the upcoming smartphone.
Earlier today, there had been reports that the new device was spotted on TENNA, which suggested that the new Mi Max 3 handset is expected to sport a 6.9-inch HD+ display and might feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. Google Tightens Loose Ends on Third-Party Applications.
Previously, there were rumours reported about the price listed on the official website, which was later taken down by the Chinese smartphone company. As per rumours, the new Mi Max 3 smartphone was tipped for RMB 1,699 (approx. Rs. 17,700). There had been other rumours on specifications as well, which suggested that the device may come in two RAM variants - 4GB & 6GB and could feature a top-spec variant called Mi Max 3 Pro. The handset is also reported to feature a dual camera setup at the back with a primary sensor of 12MP and a secondary sensor of 20MP while for selfies and AI face unlock the front camera could get an 8MP sensor.
Coming to OS and battery capacity, the device is likely to run on the latest Android Oreo 8.1 and could pack a massive 5,500mAh battery. Finally, the rumoured top-spec variant may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC.
