Here’s a quick comparison between newly launched Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite smartphones that have been launched today at an event in Spain.

Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone maker launched two new smartphones at a global product launch event in Spain. Christened as Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, the former is introduced as a successor to Mi A1 whereas the latter is a lighter version of Mi A2. Moreover, both the devices vary in specifications, design and features. Also, the handsets are offered as a part of Google's Android One Program. Furthermore, the company will be launching the new Mi A2 in India on August 8, which has been confirmed by Global VP & MD - Manu Kumar Jain in a Tweet. Display: The new Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a 5.99-inch 18:9 screen ditching a notch upfront whereas the Mi A2 Lite gets a 5.84-inch 19:9 screen with a notch. Both the display screens run FHD+ resolution.

Processor: Coming to the processor, the Mi A2 comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, while the smaller sibling comes powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC. Memory: On the memory front, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is offered in 3 variants - 4GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. On the other hand, the Mi A2 Lite is offered in 2 variants only - 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB.

Prices: As far as the prices are concerned, the base and mid variants of Mi A2 are priced at €249 (approximately Rs 20,000) and €279 (around Rs 22,500) respectively. The top end variant comes with a price tag of €349 (almost Rs 28,100). On the other hand, the two Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite variants are priced at €179 (around Rs 14,400), and €229 (around Rs 18,400) respectively.

Cameras: Both the handsets sport dual camera module at the rear along with single shooter upfront. The Mi A2 gets a combination of 20MP, and 12MP sensors at the rear and the front snapper is a 20MP with soft light LED flash. Moreover, both the modules are backed by AI. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite features 12MP and 5MP sensors at the rear along with a 5MP shooter up front.

Battery & Software: The bigger Mi A2 smartphone is backed by a 3000 mAh battery supporting quick charge 3.0, while Mi A2 Lite comes packed with a 4000 mAh battery. As mentioned previously that both the devices are introduced under Google's Android One initiative, the handsets run stock Android 8.1 Oreo and will get Android P update in the future. The Mi A2 also gets face to unlock as an added security feature.
