Xiaomi Mi A2 Smartphone Teased Ahead of Probable July 24 Launch; Expected Price, Features & Specifications

Xiaomi might launch the next generation Android One - Mi A2 smartphone in China on July 24. The upcoming Mi A2 is speculated to be the global variant of Mi 6X which was launched in China recently. The smartphone is expected to break covers in Spain at company's global launch event on July 24. Likely to run on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, the smartphone could be powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC. The smartphone will skip the company's MIUI custom Android ROM. Going by the teaser, the Android One device has been teased with the tagline "Next Gen is Coming" However, there is no official confirmation that the company will be launching the smartphone at the global event in Spain. Taking previous leaks into consideration, the Mi A2 is expected to sport a 5.99-inch full HD+ display without a notch. Under the hood, it is likely to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, which will be mated with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of inbuilt storage.

For optics, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to sport a vertical dual camera module featuring 12MP primary sensor and 20MP secondary sensor with LED flashlight. The handset is likely to carry a 20MP front camera sensor for selfies and video calling. The handset will also come with artificial intelligence (AI) and AI Portrait mode. The device could be packed with a 3010mAh battery supporting Quick Charge 3.0. For connectivity, the Mi A2 smartphone is likely to offer 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the prices, the Mi A2 is likely to be see a starting price of CHF 289 which is roughly Rs. 20,000 for 32GB variant while the 64GB variant could be priced at Rs. CHF 329 that is roughly Rs. 22,800). Moreover, the top end variant with 128GB of internal storage could be priced at CHF 369 approximately Rs. 25,600.
