Xiaomi Mi A2 & A2 Lite Smartphones Launched in Spain; Price, Features, Specifications & Products Revealed

Xiaomi which was celebrating its 1st anniversary with Google at an event held in Spain launched two smartphones – Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite today on July 24. The new Mi A2 Smartphone is the second Android One device from Xiaomi. As the device is an upgrade from its predecessor, the new smartphone incorporates many new features and specifications. One of the best upgrades is that the phone is more durable than its previous model. The new design provides the smartphone with arc architecture and aluminium unibody. Upfront, it gets a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. The device comes in three coloured variants – Blue, Gold and Black. A tweet from Manu Jain, Vice Presiden, and Managing Director, Xiaomi confirms that Mi A2 smartphone will be coming to India on August 8. Honor 9N Smartphones, Priced From Rs 11,999, Launched Today; Slated for Sale via Flipkart on 31 July Noon.

Coming to specifications, the Mi A2 smartphone sports a 5.99-inch FHD+ display. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Kryo processor paired with up to 6 GB + 128 GB of onboard storage space. Let’s take a detailed look at the octa-core processor. The first four cores are clocked at 2.2 GHz for high-performance resources while the rest is set at 1.8 GHz to manage the background data. Considering the software build, the Xiaomi Android One device has the latest Android Oreo 8.1 OS and added smart features, especially in the Mi A2 smartphones. BlackBerry KEY 2 Launched in India at Rs 42,990; Sale to start on July 31 Via Amazon.

The main highlight of the new smartphone is the camera. The Mi A2 phone comes with a dual camera setup of 12MP + 20MP Sony IMX sensors with an F1.75 aperture, giving low-light photographs much more clarity and sharpness. The premium smartphone also has an automatic lens selecting option for the optimal output in images along with the aid of AI technology. At the front end, the device receives a 20MP camera with HDR options and soft selfie light, making it perfect for selfies and video calling.

The premium device will be offered in three models which are priced as follows:

Mi A2 4 GB RAM + 32 GB Storage Euro 249 (Approx. Rs 20,079)
Mi A2 4 GB RAM + 64 GB Storage Euro 279 (Approx. Rs 22,499)
Mi A2 6 GB RAM + 128 GB Storage Euro 349 (Approx. Rs 28,144)

 

Now coming to the entry-level smartphone – Mi A2 Lite. Under its hood, the device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with up to 4 GB of RAM + 64 GB internal storage space. Bagging a massive 4,000 mAh battery, the smartphone is said to last for two days straight, considering heavy usage and high performance. As compared to the premium variant (Mi A2), the base variant also gets an AI dual camera setup of 12MP + 5MP sensors. And upfront for selfies, its offers a 5MP sensor. Well, the Lite phone will also be offered in two models, which are priced as follows:

Mi A2 Lite 3 GB + 32 GB Storage Euro 179 (Approx. Rs 14,450)
Mi A2 Lite 4 GB + 64 GB Storage Euro 229 (Approx. Rs 18,486)

After the launch, Xiaomi also introduced two new products, Mi Robot Builder and Mi Electric Toothbrush. The Mi Robot Builder is designed for users to learn modular graphical programming. The device has an ability to sync-in with phones through a wireless connection, which controls the robot to change shapes like into a plane, dinosaur and robot. Coming to the Mi Electric Toothbrush, as the name suggests, it is a smart toothbrush with 31,000 vibrations per minute for high cleaning power accompanied with rounded bristles, IPX 7 water resistance rating and a charge that last for 18 days.
