Launched at Rs. 16,999, the new Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone is claimed to be better than the Mi A1 Android One device which was launched last year.
Xiaomi India has finally launched its second Android One smartphone in India - Mi A2. Priced at Rs. 16,999, the company has launched the smartphone in a single variants - 4GB & 64GB. However, the 6GB + 128GB variant will be launched soon. Moreover, the smartphone was previously launched globally at an event in Spain last month. Touted to be better than the predecessor, the new Mi A2 handset gets a better camera, improved UI and better display. Moreover, the company also created huge buzz about its second Android One device as it was teased many a times on the official Twitter handle. The smartphone will be retailed exclusively via Amazon India and the same was listed online ahead of its launch with a price tag of Rs. 17,499. The dual-SIM smartphone comes powered by an octa-core 660 processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The smartphone also comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage with expandable memory via microSD card. Featuring Arc Design and aluminium body, the new Mi A2 handset features a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio with 1080x2160 pixels. The handset is protected by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 making it the first Xiaomi phone in India to feature the Gorilla Glass 5.
On the optics front, the new Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a rear dual camera module comprising of 12MP primary & 20MP secondary sensors with f/1.75 aperture. The front camera is a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with an aperture of f/1.75 & soft light LED flash. Backed by 3010 mAh battery, the smartphone now comes with Quick Charge 4+ along with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and USB Type-C. As far as the prices are concerned, the base variant with 4GB+64GB is priced at at Rs. 16,999. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line variant of Mi A2 with 6GB RAM & 128GB ROM will be launched soon. Talking about the availability, the pre-order for the smartphone will begin tomorrow .i.e. August 9 exclusively on Amazon India and Mi.com. Moreover, the device will be shipped to the buyers in a week when order via first sale.
