Xiaomi Mi 8 Flagship Smartphone Launching Tomorrow; Likely to Be Sold in 8 Countries

Xiaomi will be introducing the new Mi 8 smartphone in China tomorrow along with other products such as MIUI 10, Mi Band 3 and much more.

Commemorating its 8th anniversary, Xiaomi will be launching its next-in flagship device, Mi 8 smartphone tomorrow which is believed to be most premium device ever offered by the Chinese smartphone maker. Expected to sport 3D facial recognition and in-display fingerprint sensor, the smartphone is scheduled to be launched at an event in Shenzhen. As per the market reports, it is believed that the company might launch the smartphone in 8 countries which is hinted by the official poster emerged on the discussion platform. The next flagship device - Mi 8 will be launched in China first and later will be released in other markets like France, Italy, Russia, Spain, India, Egypt, Vietnam and Thailand.

Coming to the specs, the new Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone is expected to get a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display panel with 2280 x 1080 pixels of resolution and aspect ratio of 19:9. Moreover, the leaked render images also hint that the device will sport a notch on the display housing sensors upfront. Powering Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC chipset which will be coupled with 6GB of RAM and minimum of 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to be backed by a 3,300mAh battery capacity along with support for Quick Charge 4.0. The smartphone is also rumored to get an under-display fingerprint sensor like the one seen on recently launched Vivo X21. Moreover, it is also speculated that the company might introduce a Mi 8 SE variant along with Mi Band 3 and MIUI 10. The new MIUI 10 is speculated to sport major design upgrades in terms of Xiaomi’s UI and could get iPhone X like styled gestures. However, there are no details about the pricing right now yet the new smartphone from Xiaomi will be pitted against the likes of OnePlus 6, Honor 10 and others in the mid-end smartphone segment.
