Today, Xiaomi launched their new Redmi 6 series in India. The Redmi 6A is priced at 5,999, Redmi 6 at Rs 7,999 and Redmi 6 Pro at Rs 10,999. All the phones come with AI enhanced cameras, face-unlock, fingerprint reader and supports Dual VoLTE standby.
Xiaomi on Wednesday launched their new Redmi 6 series in India. The event unveiled three phones from the Chinese smartphone company, starting off with the top variant Redmi 6 Pro, which priced at Rs 10,999. The base variants like Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphone come at a price of Rs 7,999 and Rs 5,999 respectively. Also, the device offers four colour options of Grey, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold. The sale of the phones will kick-start on various dates. The Redmi 6A that will be available on September 10. Redmi 6 smartphone comes in two variants of 3GB RAM +32GB ROM priced at Rs 7,999 and the 3GB RAM + 64GB ROM model at Rs 9,499. The Redmi 6 Pro handset sale starts on September 11 at 12 noon. Lastly, the base variant of the series, Redmi 6A, comes with two options of 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM at Rs 5,999 and 2GB RAM + 32GB ROM priced at Rs 6,999, and the sale starts at September 19. It is to be noted that the price mentioned for the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A will be an introductory price for two months, meaning it could change if the Indian Rupee value further depreciates. Coming to the specifications, let’s start with Redmi 6 Pro smartphone. The device sports a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The phone comes with a premium aluminium body. The smartphone is equipped with a dual camera setup of 12MP + 5MP sensor infused with AI technology, where the 5MP is a Samsung sensor and the 12MP is Sony IMX486 sensor. The front-facing camera features a 5MP sensor with AI beautify. The Redmi 6 smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, which is an octa-core processor with its initial four set at 2.0GHz, while the rest four cores are clocked at 1.5GHz for better battery usage. The phone sports a 5.45-inch HD+ with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The optics on the device, the rear carries a dual camera of 12MP + 5MP sensors. The front of the phone features a 5MP sensor for selfies and video chats. Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Helio A22 processor clocked at 2.0GHz, which is paired with a 2GB RAM and up to 32GB internal memory. The device also carries a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone runs on MIUI 9.6 based on Android Oreo 8.1 OS. For the optics, the Redmi 6A smartphone comes with a 13MP primary sensor at the rear, and at the front, it incorporates a 5MP sensor.
