Mumbai, November 6: Xiaomi India has announced the launch of its new smartphones in India, including the Redmi A4 and Redmi Note 14 series. This comes after Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B would step down from his role by the end of 2024, and COO Sudhin Mathur would take over to handle the operations of the Chinese smartphone company. Xiaomi is set to launch its new Redmi A4 in India in the budget segment, likely around INR 10,000.

The upcoming Redmi A4 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor, according to the reports. On the other hand, the upcoming Redmi Note 14 series is expected to come with a 200 MP primary camera. The release of these smartphones is late because of the shift in the company's annual release cycle after 2022. Reports said  Xiaomi India's Chief Marketing Officer, Anuj Sharma, said the company would now revert to a dual-launch approach. Anuj Sharma said that after 2022, Xiaomi slowed down to an annual cycle, likely due to the impact of COVID-19; however, the company said that it achieved improved efficiency and manufacturing alignment, which would help it with the dual-launch approach.

In October, Xiaomi showcased the Redmi A4 during the IMC (India Mobile Congress). Now, the device will be introduced in India this month for people looking for a new Redmi smartphone in the budget or entry-level segment. Xiaomi has yet to reveal more details about the devices that it announced. Apple Launches ‘Apple News’ Widget to Brings Live 2024 US Election Updates to iPhone Lock Screens With Real-Time Electoral Count.

Redmi Note 14 series, set to arrive in December 2024, may offer a 200 MP primary camera; however, the report said it would improve the charging speed and bigger batteries. This year, The Chinese smartphone maker launched the predecessor Redmi 13 series with a 108 MP primary camera. The price of these mid-range devices would be between INR 20,000 to INR 30,000. In August 2024, Xiaomi had beaten Apple and secured the second position in the global smartphone market sales, pushing the iPhone maker to the third spot. On the top, Samsung held its position.
