Xiaomi’s sub-brand Huami launched its new smartwatch Amazfit Verge in China today. The new smart wear comes with various functions and features, which can be compared to its rival company’s Apple Watch Series 4. Priced at USD 115 (Approx. Rs 8,300), the Amazfit Verge smartwatch brings in features like NFC-enabled payments, built-in GPS, heart-rate sensor and Xiao AI voice assistant. Coming to the build specifications, the watch sports AMOLED display with a diameter of approximately 1.3-inches and 306 X 306 resolution. Also, the display gets a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection with an IP68 certification, which makes the device scratch and dust-proof along with water-resistance. With IP68 certification, the watch can withstand being submerged up to five meters for a duration of 30 minutes. As for its OS, the watch has Huami’s operating system powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. To keep the device ticking, the watch comes with a built-in 390mAh battery, which the company claims will last for five days. The watch can also receive calls, send messages, give health status update and workout routines, guide users to their selected destinations and measure and monitor the wearer’s heart-rate scale. The new smartwatch also comes with a bunch of other sensors like accelerometer, air pressure sensor, ambient light, a geomagnetic sensor, and gyroscope. For exercise routines, the smart wear introduces 11 modes of workout like indoor running, trail running, walking, elliptical machine, mountaineering, tennis, ski and football.
