New Delhi, September 18: Wipro has reportedly implemented a stricter work from office (WFO) policy for its employees. As per reports, the IT company has mandated that employees to attend the office at least 3 days a week. IT Major, Wipro, has reportedly sent out an internal email to its employees, encouraging them to adhere to the new policy. According to reports, the work from home (WFH) arrangements will likely now be linked to each employee's leave balance.

As per a report of Republic World, Wipro sent an email to its staff on September 2, mandating that employees must attend the office at least 3 days a week or risk losing a day’s leave. The employees are instructed to adhere to this mandate, and failure to do so would result in the loss of a day’s leave for each instance of non-compliance. Wipro To Offer an Average 8% Salary Hike to Its Top Performing Employees This Year, Likely To Hire Around 10,000 Graduates by March 2025.

The email also reportedly instructed the human resources (HR) team to cancel any previous approvals for work from home requests. Reports indicate that Wipro's management has directed the HR department to stop accepting any new requests for remote work. The decision reflects a shift in the company's policy regarding remote work and emphasising the need for employees to adhere to the new guidelines.

Wipro looks to implement a more consistent approach to manage the WFH system by revoking prior approvals and halting new requests. However, the new rules might only apply to specific projects and may not affect all employees in the company. A Wipro employee reportedly confirmed that the management plans to implement a rule where one day of leave will be deducted for each day an employee does not come to the office. If an employee is not physically present at work for the required 3 days each week, all three days will be counted as leave. TCS Partners With McDonald’s Philippines To Modernise, Improve Current IT Systems and Enhance Digital Capabilities of Over 760 Restaurants.

LTIMindtree, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Infosys have also all implemented policies requiring employees to work from the office for a certain number of days per week. LTIMindtree will deduct a day's leave if employees do not attend the office for 4 days in a designated week. TCS has tied variable pay to being in the office 5 days a week, and Infosys requires office attendance for at least 3 days a week.
