New Delhi, September 4: Microsoft has reportedly announced that it will soon fix a glitch related to the Recall uninstall option in Windows 11. As per reports, the issue arose after the recent update to Windows 11, which mistakenly showed the Microsoft Recall feature as uninstallable, which led to confusion over the unexpected change. Microsoft has reportedly acknowledged that the appearance of the uninstall option was not intended and is working on a solution.

As per a report of Financial Express, Microsoft admits that the Recall uninstall option in Windows 11 is a bug. Microsoft is working on resolving the issue and Windows 11 users can wait for the fix to be released. The company has not provided an exact timeline for the fix. Deskmodder, a German website, has reportedly discovered that the recent update to Windows 11 version 24H2 with KB5041865 has a new option to remove the Recall feature from the "Turn Windows features on or off" menu in the Control Panel. The Recall AI feature allows users to take screenshots of almost everything they do on a computer.

What is Microsoft Recall AI Feature?

The feature was initially planned to be released alongside Copilot Plus PCs in June. However, due to concerns raised by security researchers, Microsoft had to postpone its launch and is still planning to give a preview of the Recall feature on Copilot Plus PCs in October.
