Mumbai, September 25: WhatsApp has rolled out several updates to make the app better and more relevant to billions of users. The Meta-owned platform has announced that it will not support a list of older Android smartphones. The new version of WhatsApp is compatible with all the latest devices launched and the older versions. The platform provides updates that work on all devices and support the new features. 

WhatsApp has to take care of its users and provide them better security from possible hackers and attackers online. The older versions of the Android platforms do not keep up with the latest security updates and the devices' specifications, so they are vulnerable and risky. Millions of WhatsApp users running the app on older versions are at risk of threats, being outdated, and non-compatibility with the latest version. Android Smartphones That Will Not Support New WhatsApp:

Some older smartphone brands running on Android 4.1 will not be compatible with the new WhatsApp update. Such brands include HTC, Sony Ericson, LG Optimus, Samsung older smartphones and others. WhatsApp will be available on most of the devices; however, to run it on a smartphone, you must have Android 5.0 and above versions of OS. For iPhone users, the minimum requirement is iOS 12 and above versions. To quickly check which version your smartphone has, go to the "Setting" option and click on "About Phone". You will find the "Software " details there, including its name and version. If you cannot send messages to other numbers using your smartphone through the WhatsApp application, then your device will not support WhatsApp.
