New Delhi, May 27: WhatsApp, the messaging app owned by Meta, is introducing an exciting new feature that allows users to share longer voice notes as status updates on both iOS and Android platforms. This is a highly anticipated update for WhatsApp users who might have been eagerly waiting for the ability to express themselves through extended audio messages.

As per a report of India Today, WhatsApp will now let users share voice notes of up to one minute as part of their status updates. Previously, the limit for voice note status updates was set at 30 seconds, but with this new feature, users can now convey their thoughts and feelings in a more comprehensive manner. The new WhatsApp feature is available on both iOS and Android devices. How the New WhatsApp Status Feature Works?

As per a report of English Jagran, when recording a voice note, a few key features are available, which include a "slide to cancel" option is displayed next to the microphone icon, which is expected to allow users to stop recording. After recording, users can also play back the voice note to review it. A trash can icon or a left swipe on the microphone icon will allow users to delete the recorded note. A green paper aeroplane icon at the bottom right sends the voice note as the user's status updates.
