WhatsApp Now Starts Rolling Out PIP Feature to Stable Version For Android Users

We previously reported that WhatsApp is rolling out Picture-in-Picture (PIP) feature on the Android beta app. After almost two months of testing, WhatsApp has started rolling out this new feature to Android stable users. This new feature on WhatsApp enables the users to view videos within the app. The users can watch videos in a floating window while the user continues to navigate in the chat window only. Post months of testing, the feature is now making way for stable android users. The updated version of the app is rolled out on Google Play with version 2.18.280. Moreover, the company is also planning to introduce new features to the platform soon. Recently, the Facebook-owned messaging platform received a new group call button, which is expected to make way for the Android app too.

Currently, the users need to make video call or audio to a recipient first and then add other participants to the same request. However, the new feature will enable the users to add participants before making a call. The company is also planning to introduce a Dark Mode to the platform, which will also help in improving the battery life of the smartphones.

Moreover, the company has already rolled out some of the features to the platform, which includes replying to the messages directly from the notification panel. Several reports also claim that WhatsApp is also working on a new feature, which will enable the users to preview photos or videos from the notification panel itself.
