Mumbai, November 14: WhatsApp is testing new features to help users to enhance their experience. This year, the Meta-owned platform rolled out a wide range of features and integration with AI, offering WhatsApp users text and image generation capabilities. Now, WhatsApp is testing various new features, such as new themed icons for contacts and group chats, notifications for group chats, photos, GIF caption and video galleries. All of these features are under development but may soon be available for users globally.

The new group chat notification feature on WhatsApp may allow users to avoid confusion about the notifications that might still come through from groups. It will allow the users to filter the notification by choosing "All" and "Highlights", according to a post by WABetainfo. The All option will allow WhatsApp users to get all the general notifications from a group, while the Highlights will help them get those notifications when someone mentions them. OpenAI Operator: ChatGPT-Developer Expected To Introduce New AI Agent To Help Automate Tasks in Browser and Save Time, Say Reports,

The other feature, "new themed icons for contacts and group chats," would introduce a "sleek black theme" for light mode and replace the green and black colours. When users turn on the black theme on the platform, it switches to white. These subtle changes would reportedly help the app feel modern and have a minimalist design. Another feature called "GIF caption" is also in works which would help the users to make accessing the GIFs and sticks via intuitive interface. Microsoft Launches Adapted AI Models for Various Industries Addressing Their Specific Needs.

The third feature, "Photo and Video Gallery", is intended for users to get organised multimedia from their smartphone. According to WABetainfo, this new WhatsApp feature would help users access their gallery from the chat bar. They can quickly browse several photos or videos and find the right one to share with others. This feature would likely make sharing multiple photographs and videos on the app more accessible.  All of these features have already been rolled out to the beta testers and will soon be available for users in the coming days.
