San Francisco, September 25: WhatsApp is working on a new feature to enhance the camera capability while using the mobile application. The Meta-owned platform has been working on several updates that enhance the interaction of users with the platform on mobile and web. Recently, it was reported that  WhatsApp was testing an AR feature for call effects and filters to enhance the video calling experience of customers.

According to a post by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp recently rolled out its 'camera effects' feature for the beta testers, allowing them to apply filters while using the camera feature on the app. The WhatsApp Beta website said that previously, the effects were only limited to the users doing video calls; however, now Meta's instant messaging app would also introduce them to the camera. X New Feature Update: Elon Musk-Run Platform Introduces New UI, Post Interaction Menu for X iOS App; Check Details.

The post said that this would allow WhatsApp users to get creative control over their photos and videos as they could quickly toggle between a wide range of filters. It said that they would get features like "skin-smoothing" that would help enhance and balance out the skin tone and reduce blemishes. With this new WhatsApp feature, the users could also improve their selfie images and make them more polished.

Furthermore, Meta-owned WhatsApp also integrated the background-changing feature, previously available to use while making video calls. It would help them replace the background image and add some "professional"-looking virtual scenes or blur. The upcoming WhatsApp feature would also allow users to adjust lighting. WABetaInfo said that this could be achieved by offering a low-light mode to brighten the dark environment. Spotify AI Playlist: Music Streaming Platform Rolls Out AI Playlist for Premium Users on Android and iOS; Check Details.
