The Meta-owned messaging platform is reportedly coming with a call link feature, which may simplify the process of sharing and joining group calls directly through a generated link. The new WhatsApp feature is expected to make it easier for users to create and share call links. WhatsApp users is said to initiate voice or video calls with just a single tap from the calls tab.
As per a report of CNBC TV18, WhatsApp is introducing a new call link feature, which will likely allow users to create and share a link for group calls in a few taps. The feature is expected to improve communication within WhatsApp groups, as it is said to be exclusively developed for group chats. As per reports, the feature will be added to the existing attachment options, such as photos and documents, and it will give users the ability to generate a link and initiate calls with others. Currently, when there is an incoming call, the app rings to all members in a WhatsApp group, but this approach is expected to be changed soon. The call link feature is anticipated to enable users to initiate a call without ringing all the members of a group at once. Instead, participants can join the call whenever it suits them. Once the call link is shared in a WhatsApp group, all the members of that group can easily join the call by simply tapping on the link without any ringing notifications for the group members. Each time a call link is generated, a unique and secure URL will be created. The call link URL is said to come with end-to-end encryption for a secure and private conversation.
