WhatsApp Group Privacy Settings Update Rolled Out Worldwide For Android & iOS Users; WhatsApp Web Gets Consecutive Voice Message Playback

After rolling out group privacy settings for the Indian users, WhatsApp is rolling out the feature to the worldwide users on both Android and iOS platforms. As a reminder, the leading instant messaging service introduced group privacy settings after concerns of misinformation were spread rapidly through the platform. With these new privacy settings, users can opt for particular contacts who can add them to group chats. Initially reported by WABetaInfo, the instant messaging service also added a new blacklist option in the privacy settings. Now, the users will get three options under 'Who can add me to groups' settings - 'Everyone', 'My Contacts' & 'My Contacts Except'. This new feature update on WhatsApp will let the user know which other users have to gain approval before adding you to any group. The users can either select a few users, or click on the Select All option to include the entire contact list.

As per the market reports, WhatsApp is remotely activating the feature on Android Beta version 2.19.298 and iOS beta version 2.19.110.20. The new Group privacy setting will be available under WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Groups.

Apart from the new group privacy setting, the Facebook-owned messaging platform has also started rolling out consecutive voice note playback feature to WhatsApp Web. This new feature on WhatsApp Web will allow the user to play the consecutive voice messages in a series with a single click on the play button. It is important to note that this feature won't work if voice notes are interrupting any other message or media file.
