New Delhi, September 16: WhatsApp, the Meta-owned messaging platform, has rolled out a new feature that will allow transfer ownership feature for communities. The update is part of the latest stable release for Android (version 2.24.18.80). The update also includes new features for managing group chat visibility and archiving community chats directly from the Chats tab. WhatsApp users can expect to improve user experience with these updates.
As per a report of Financial Express, WhatsApp has rolled out an update for its Android app to allow community owners to transfer ownership to another admin. It means that the current owner can now select any admin within the community to take over their role. The transfer process can be done within the community settings. Once the transfer is confirmed, the new owner will receive a notification and gain full administrative privileges. The new feature to transfer community ownership is expected to make it easier for community owners to assign responsibilities. When the current owner decides to transfer ownership, they can choose any admin from the community settings. WhatsApp has also introduced a new feature that allows users to archive community group chats directly from the Chats tab. The update addresses the previous limitation where users could only archive these chats from the Communities tab. A new feature has also been introduced to manage the visibility of community group chats.
