Vodafone India on Monday launched a new RED plan called RED Basic. The new plan will offer subscribers with 20GB of 4G/3G data, unlimited voice calling, 100 SMS and unlimited local+STD roaming calls is priced at Rs. 299. Earlier this month, Vodafone introduced RED Plans ranging from Rs. 399 to Rs. 2999, which offered data from 40GB to 300GB with rollover data benefits up to 500GB. The telecom service provider is also offering users with a free 1-year subscription to online streaming sites like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Currently, plans like RED Entertainment, RED Entertainment Plus, RED International R, RED International L and RED Signature offers subscribers with mobile insurance, damage repairs and extended warranty. While the new RED Basic plan will only offer a year free subscription to Vodafone Play. Here’s how you can activate the RED Basic plan.

Step 1: Open Vodafone mobile app

Step 2: Select Active Packs & Plans

Step 3: Browse other plans and select RED Basic

Step 4: Hit the Activate button and done.

Vodafone’s RED plans are measures which the company has taken to beat its rivals – Jio and Airtel. RED Basic plan priced at Rs. 299 is a direct jab to the Jio's Rs 199 plan, which offers 25GB of 4G data, free voice calls, unlimited SMS, premium subscriptions to Jio Apps with a validity of one month. While Vodafone’s other RED plans (Entertainment, International & Signature) have been modified to beat Airtel in terms of free subscriptions offered on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
