Mumbai, July 26: Vivo silently launched a new budget smartphone under its Y series for the Indian market on Friday. Priced at INR 7,999, the Vivo Y18i has a sole 4GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration. Though the brand hasn’t made any official announcement, the phone is listed on the official website and can be purchased online at the price above-mentioned. It is expected to be available through offline channels.
Vivo offers the phone in two colourways - Gem Green and Space Black. As a reminder, the Chinese smartphone maker will launch the Vivo V40 series in the country next month. POCO M6 Plus 5G To Launch on August 1.
As for specifications, Vivo Y18i sports a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, up to 528nits of peak brightness and a resolution of 1,612 × 720 pixels supporting IP54-rating for dust and splash resistance. It draws power from a Unisoc T612 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, wherein the latter is expandable via microSD card. Interestingly, it also supports a RAM extender of up to 8GB of RAM wherein unused ROM space is allocated as RAM based on the RAM usage. POCO F6 Deadpool Edition Launched in India.
For photography, the Vivo Y18i is equipped with a dual rear camera unit featuring an LED flash. The unit comprises a 13MP primary shooter with f/2.2 aperture and a 0.08MP secondary sensor with f/3.0 aperture. The front camera is a 5MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls. It packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery with Smart Charging Engine 2.0. However, there’s no word on fast-charging support. The phone runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 out-of-the-box.
