With the increasing demand for the premium smartphones in the Indian market, Vivo India too has entered the race with its newly launched Vivo X21 smartphone. Priced at Rs. 35,990 in India, the new X21 device is touted as country’s first smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner that will foray Vivo’s official entry in the premium smartphone space. The company had been targeting the entry level to mid-level smartphones in the market till date. The interested buyers can purchase the newly launched smartphone via Flipkart. As a part of launch offer, the smartphone company is looking to lure buyers by giving them an attractive offer wherein the buyers are entitled to receive a cashback of up to 5 percent on SBI credit cards. The buyers can also avail an extra Rs. 3000 off over the regular exchange value. Moreover, the company is also providing the smartphone to the buyers with no cost EMI option up to 12 months across all credit cards.

The main underline of the smartphone is the fingerprint scanner which is offered under the display. The users will be required to touch their finger to the circular on-screen fingerprint for unlocking the device. The company revealed the in-display fingerprint scanning technology earlier this year at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas.

Specification-wise, the new Vivo X21 smartphone features a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2280 x 1080 resolution. The smartphone also comes with an iPhone X like notch on the top of the display. Under the hood, the handset is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC which is mated to a 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 128GB which can be expanded easily via using microSD card. The smartphone also comes with a 3200mAh battery and a headphone jack. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo, the newly launched X21 smartphone also gets a Funtouch OS 4.0 and will also receive Android P Beta update later on which was announced at Google I/O this month. For optics, the smartphone comes with vertically aligned dual camera module at the rear featuring 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor along with a dedicated LED flash. The smartphone also features a 12MP facing sensor with face recognition feature at the front. On the competition front, the newly launched Vivo X21 smartphone is pitted against the likes of Honor 10 and OnePlus 6 in the premium mid-end smartphone space.
