Vivo India is all set for the launch of the new Nex smartphone in India, which was rolled out in China last month. The smartphone manufacturer will be live streaming the launch event today at 12 pm onwards. To be sold in the country exclusively via Amazon India, the new Vivo smartphone comes with a motorised pop-up camera and in-display fingerprint reader. The smartphone launched in China is available in two variants - Nex A and Nex S, while the Indian market will see only a single variant that will be christened as Nex.

Moreover, the company also claims that the in-display fingerprint sensor equipped on the smartphone is faster by 10 per cent and offers an improved accuracy of 50 per cent. Also, the smartphone was listed on Amazon India ahead of its launch on the first day of the prime day sale. As per the prime day sale, the e-commerce giant offered a cashback of Rs. 1,000 for the early buyers and extended warranty of 6 months as well. The 4G enabled smartphone sports a 6.59-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with aspect ratio of 19.3:9 and 1080x2316p resolution. Running on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is mated to an 8GB of RAM. The smartphone is likely to be offered in 2 ROM options - 128GB and 256GB.

For photography, the dual SIM handset gets a dual rear camera module comprising of a 12MP Sony primary sensor along with a 5MP secondary sensor. It also gets an 8MP pop-up selfie camera upfront that can be activated in just 1 second, as claimed by the company. Backed by a 4000 mAh battery, the smartphone is loaded with connectivity option such as Bluetooth 5.0, 4G LTE, WiFi, OTG support or more. Coming to the price point, the new Vivo Nex smartphone is likely to be launched in the price bracket of Rs. 40,990 and Rs. 49,990. The 8GB/128GB variant of the smartphone launched in China is priced at CNY 4498 which around Rs. 47,400, while the 8GB/256GB variant is available at CNY 4,998 approximately Rs. 52,600.
