Vivo Nex and Nex S smartphones Launched with Pop-Up Selfie Camera, Bezel-less Design; Price, Features & Specifications

Vivo, a popular Chinese smartphone brand on Monday launched the new Vivo NEX, touted as true bezel-less phone at an event in Shanghai. The smartphone is based on the Vivo Apex phone which was showcased at MWC 2018 featuring bezel-less design and pop-up camera at the front. Moreover, the company has introduced the Nex series in 2 variants - Vivo NEX and NEX S. The phone is referred as the most premium device under Vivo's portfolio, however, both the phones differs based on specifications and features. The smartphones are slated to go on sale starting from June 23 onwards.

As far as the prices are concerned, the new Vivo Nex and Vivo Nex S smartphones are retailed with a price tag of RMB 3,898 (around Rs 41,050) and RMB 4,498 (around Rs 47,500) respectively. The former is offered with 6GB of RAM & 128GB of onboard storage while the latter is packed with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Moreover, the company is also offering a top-spec variant of Nex S with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage which comes with a price tag of RMB 4,998 (around Rs 52,700).

The newly launched Nex smartphones comes with the same 6.59-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with 2316x1080 pixels of resolution. Talking about the powerhouse, the new Vivo Nex is fitted with the all-new octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC clubbed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB ROM. On the other hand, the new Vivo Nex S comes powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. For optics, the Nex and Nex S comes with dual sensor module at the rear with 12MP primary sensor and 12MP secondary sensors and gets Vivo’s AI recognition tools proffering seamless experience. The main highlight of the phone is an 8MP camera upfront which pops-up when the front camera is activated on the camera app.

Additional highlights of the smartphones is that it also comes with Vivo's own AI assistant Jovi, which can be activated through a dedicated button. The Nex phone comes with rear fingerprint reader whereas Nex S features in-display fingerprint sensor. Both the smartphones will be offered in diamond black and ruby red body shade when goes on sale.
