As Samsung has officially launched its first foldable phone - Galaxy Fold on Wednesday, the race to unfold the future has begun. Now, Vivo is planning to launch its first foldable smartphone under its iQOO sub-brand. To recall, the Chinese smartphone maker announced this sub-brand earlier this month. Since its introduction, the sub-brand didn’t revealed any phone or details about the same. However, the company finally posted a teaser image on its official Weibo account hinting the arrival of a smartphone on March 1, 2019. The teaser image mentions, ‘Monster Inside’ and it will be launched at an event in Shenzhen, China. Dubbed as the most powerful smartphone ever, the new smartphone from Vivo could be packed with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is expected to feature 44W fast charging technology that is likely to be named as Vivo FlashCharge. If offered with the same charging technology, it would be the second fastest charger after SuperVOOC that offers 50W charging. The teaser image also reveals that the foldable phone will get In-display fingerprint scanner and AMOLED screen.
Going by the market reports, the Vivo iQOO smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The connectivity options on the handset are likely to be carried out by NFC and USB Type-C port. The phone will be backed by a massive 4000 mAh battery with 44W fast charging. Coming to the pricing, the new Vivo iQOO foldable smartphone could be priced around CNY 7000 which is approximately Rs 71,000.
