Twitter Revamps Desktop Look in Bid to Mimic Mobile App; Here’s What’s New and How Twitterati Reacted
Microblogging site Twitter.com has officials rolled out the new layout for the desktop version, which it claimed "a refreshed and updated website that is faster, easier to navigate and more personalized." The new design looks somewhat similar to its mobile application.
The microblogging site Twitter.com has officials rolled out a new layout for the desktop version, which it claims is "a refreshed and updated website that is faster, easier to navigate and more personalized." The new design looks somewhat similar to its mobile application. Sections like Explore, Direct Messages, Lists, Bookmarks, Notification and Profile have been moved around to be more accessible. And if you need slight alteration, the social media platform has also introduced a Dim and Lights Out theme for fans of Dark Mode.
Twitter in a blog post said, “The site has an updated look and feel that is more consistent with the Twitter you see on other devices, making it easier to access some of your favourite features, and with more options to make it your own." Twitter Lite Android App Now Available in India.
Features on the New Twitter Desktop Site:
- Explore Tab is added to the social network’s desktop to give quick access to content, including trends and "What’s happening".
- User's profile, notifications, lists, and bookmarks are made easily available via the navigation bar on the left side of Twitter.com.
- Direct messages can be expanded on the right side to see other conversations and send messages on the same view.
- No hassle of Login, Logout. Now, multiple accounts can be easily switched between them.
- To made it more personalised, a Dark Theme is added.
Meanwhile, the new look has combined reactions from Twitteratis. Some of them liked the new update while others preferred the older version.
