California, September 24: Twitter layoffs-affected employee reportedly won a legal battle against Elon Musk over severance pay. After buying out Twitter (now called X) for USD 44 billion, Elon Musk fired several people from the company. Many employees filed a legal lawsuit against the firm over getting their severance pay. Omid Kordestani, a former Twitter executive chairman, also went on a legal battle with Elon Musk, who allegedly refused to cash his USD 20 million worth of shares.

According to reports, the tech billionaire lost a fight with a former Twitter employee after two years of announcing the layoffs. The Twitter mass layoffs affected thousands of employees. Around 2000 employees who previously worked at the company filed lawsuits against X for getting short-changed pay. Vinod Khosla Demands Apology From Elon Musk for Sharing ‘Fake’ Photo of ‘No Plebs Allowed’ Sign on Beach, US Billionaire Reacts.

Lawyer Shannon Liss-Riordan said in a memo that the arbitrator awarded the complete severance package to her client. The Twitter employee who won the case declined to provide his identity or confidential information to the media. The lawyer expressed that she was happy with the development and hoped it would bring some good news in the future. X Corp did not comment on this matter.

In July, Elon Musk's social platform successfully defeated a massive lawsuit from around 6,000 ex-Twitter employees demanding USD 500 million in severance pay. This was initiated under the provisions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Lawyer Shannon Liss-Riordan highlighted that 15 cases had arbitrage hearings, and more rulings would come out in the next few months. Elon Musk Says Google and Microsoft Very Disproportionately Donated to the Democratic Party, Calls Them Biased.

She said  X would have to come to the ruling table and negotiate a settlement for everyone. Elon Musk had redesigned Twitter, renamed it X, and changed its URL to x.com, previously twitter.com. Also, the platform has integrated several new features and capabilities for users compared to the previously known Twitter platform. However, it still faces a legal battle with the former employees over layoffs and severance pay.
