If Transformers have fascinated you then this robot in Japan is all sorts of awesome! Japanese engineers have unveiled a new robot which can really turn itself into a can, and then carry people on board. This is the first of its kind invention done in the history of manufacturing robots. The robot is named 'J-deite RIDE,' an actual two-seater with a height of 3.7-metre-tall. But it transforms into a sports car in just a minute!
This robot can walk at a speed of 100 meters per hour or while driving on all its four wheels. Although developers have not yet tried it outside the factory's cargo bay. Brave robotics chief executive officer Kenji Ishida initiated this project with Asratec —an affiliate of the Japanese mobile phone giant SoftBank. He said he was motivated by the transformer series and the heroes in the anime movies. "The robots I've seen in animation movies since childhood all had this kind of look and they transform into or combined with each other to become something else with people on board. So I grew up believing that robots had to be capable of such things, which became my motivation to develop this robot," Mr Ishida said.

The robot is, of course, an expensive toy but Mr. Ishida believes it to be an inspiration to others and also a way to broaden the human vision. This technology can be used in the entertainment industry such as amusement parks and even in street parades.
