Tired of Spam Calls? Google Pixel will Automatically Send Robocalls to Voicemail
Amid a stark increase in spam calls and messages, Google announced that Pixel, its flagship smartphone, will soon be able to send spam calls directly to voicemail.
New York, April 12: Amid a stark increase in spam calls and messages, Google announced that Pixel, its flagship smartphone, will soon be able to send spam calls directly to voicemail. While the Google Phone app flags spam numbers and lights up the screen bright red when one comes in, the new spam filtering will automatically send robocalls to voicemail. Furthermore, with the new update in place, users will no longer get notifications of the missed spam call, reports The Verge.
While the question remains whether accurate detection of spam calls can be done, Google says the move was taken to ensure that the company plays its part in protecting Pixel users. The new feature will be rolled out worldwide over the next few weeks in Google's Phone app on Android, which is available on Pixel, Nexus, or Android One, and will be available for other device users for download on Google Play Store.
