New Delhi, November 2: Telegram has reportedly introduced new features for its users. The instant messaging app now allows its users to select video quality and adjust playback speed to enhance the viewing experience. As per reports, the company has mentioned that an update will introduce some changes to the way videos are shared and received on the platform. Telegram users can expect a different experience when they send or receive videos to make the process efficient.

As per a report of 9To5Google, Telegram is making improvements to how videos will work on the app. Users will have the option to choose the quality in which they want to watch the videos they receive. Additionally, multiple reports suggest that iOS users can turn on Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, which will allow them to watch videos while using other apps. Telegram has also introduced a new feature called chat-specific hashtags, as per a report of Gadgets360. The feature seems to help users quickly locate messages with a specific hashtag within a certain group or channel. Users can use this format "#hashtag@username" to make it easier to find relevant conversations and information.

Telegram users will have the ability to speed up video playback by pressing and holding the right side of the video screen. By sliding their finger to the right, they can increase the playback speed up to 2.5 times faster. Owners of large Telegram channels will notice some improvements when uploading videos. The new video feature is said to automatically choose the best video quality depending on the user's internet connection. For channel owners, the platform will automatically compress and optimise their high-resolution videos into three different quality options, which is said to include low, medium, and high.
