Swachh Bharat Mission: Google Partners With India With #LooReview Project; Here's How You Can Participate
In a bid to encourage people to use public toilets, the Narendra Modi government has partnered with search engine giant Google under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Mumbai, October: In a bid to encourage people to use public toilets, the Narendra Modi government has partnered with search engine giant Google under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Under the project, Google is asking people to visit the nearest public toilet in their city and review it on the Google Maps portal with photos and texts. Users can also add video reviews of the toilets. Difference Between 'Swachhata Hi Seva' & 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.
The project will run through October and November this year to encourage people as well as make it easier for them to locate public toilets. The project includes more than 30,000 toilets across over 500 cities in India, which are available on Google Maps with the name 'SBM Toilet'. What You Need to Do
- Open Google Maps
- Search public toilets near me
- Visit different locations and add photos of the facilities
- Write reviews that mention if places are clean, have latches on the doors, have soap, and other notable details like if there are showers, fees, or dressing rooms
- Include #LooReview at the end of each one!
This is not the only project for which the Indian government has partnered with the tech giant. The Ministry of Railways has also partnered with Google to take users on a virtual tour of Indian Railways and its heritage.
