New Delhi, September 15: Spotify has reportedly introduced a new parental control feature called “Managed Account” for users on the Spotify family plan to enhance the audio streaming experience for families with kids. The Spotify new feature will allow parents to manage accounts of kids under 13 years of age and will be able to restrict content for their children.

As per a report of Republic World, Spotify has introduced “Managed Account” for parental controls to enhance its family plan by giving parents the ability to manage content for kids on their accounts. It is said to be done as a pilot program to test and evaluate the feature. The feature includes a content filter, which will allow parents to block explicit content and monitor their children's listening habits. The feature, called "Managed Accounts," will initially be rolled out in New Zealand, Denmark, and Sweden.

How To Use the New Parental Controls on Spotify

To access the parental controls, Spotify family plan subscribers should log into their account and navigate to the family settings section on their iPhone or Android phone. Here, they will find an option to manage the accounts of family members. Tap on the Account option and then select the premium family option. Next, under plan members, choose the option to add members to your plan. Then, add a listener aged under 13 and tap the add account option. Confirm that you are the legal guardian and set a PIN to secure access. Enter the name and date of birth for the child and finally and set the desired parental controls for the managed account.
