Snapdragon 8 Elite to Launch on October 22 at Snapdragon Summit 2024; Check Leaked AnTuTu Scores and First Devices to Feature It
Qualcomm is set to introduce its new products during Snapdragon Summit 2024 starting from October 21 till October 24, 2024. The chipmaker will reportedly introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite on October 22, 2024 during the event to be held in Maui, Hawaii in the United States.
Mumbai, October 22: Snapdragon 8 Elite or Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set to launch globally on October 22, 2024, during its Snapdragon Summit 2024 at Maui in Hawaii. Same as last year, Qualcomm is expected to unveil its next-gen mobile processor to score higher benchmarks through performance in photography, AI processing and gaming. It is expected that the first smartphone to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite are Xiaomi 15 and Realme GT 7 Pro launching in China soon.
Ahead of the launch of the next-gen Snapdragon flagship processor, a report by GSMArena said that the AnTuTu scores of the SoC had been revealed. Last year, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scored over 2.1 to 2.2 million on a wide range of devices. This year, the numbers will reportedly go beyond 3 million, offering an increased performance over the previous generation. With this score, the report said that the processor beat Apple's latest A18 Pro chipset with 1.65 million points. Recently, MediaTek also announced its flagship processor, Dimensity 9400, which scored around 2.8 billion. However, the Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 4) scored 0.2 million more on the test. The report said that the upcoming processor would be available in two variants. The first would offer two cores running at 4.09 GHz; the other variant would be available with six cores running at 2.78 GHz. The report said a premium version would also have two cores clocked at 4.32 GHz. Both versions would support TSMC's 3nm process-based Adreno 830 GPU. The report mentioned that the Snapdragon 8 Elite also scored higher on Geekbench, making it a solid contender with higher performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The mobile processor will be a part of the following smartphones this year and next year: iQOO 13, OnePlus 13, Xiaomi 15 series, Samsung Galaxy S25 series, ASUS ROG Phone 9 series, and others. The launch timeline of these devices is yet to be confirmed by their respective companies.
