Mumbai, August 9: In order to inspire the Artemis Generation (students of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), NASA has been holding the Lunabotics Challenge since 2010. The Challenges provides a unique opportunity to students to show their autonomous study, research and innovation on robotic excavator and builder designs, that will influence future lunar and Martian missions. The engineering designs put forward by the students are compared with NASA's own prototypes and the best are selected for the win.

NASA's Office of STEM Engagement manages the Lunabotics, wherein competitors build telerobotics robots to tackle regolith challenges faced on the lunar soil, ensuring their robots can operate both autonomously and remotely. Cat’s Eye Nebula: NASA’s Space Telescope Hubble Captures Breathtaking Image of the Planetary Nebula (View Picture).
