The deep oceans are such a mystery of marine life. Recently divers swimming in Cornwall's oceans came across a huge jellyfish, as big as the human body. Off the coast of Cornwall, the divers swam with this huge jellyfish and are the largest species of the kind that was found in British waters. The jellyfish species have also been found washed ashore in the summers when they swarm off from the coast. These are barrel jellyfish and are so big that it has surprised even the marine enthusiasts. Lizzie Daly was among the group of divers diving off Falmouth along the coast of Cornwall when she had this encounter. People too were stunned at its size and marvelled at the beauty of nature. According to Wildlife Trusts, the barrel jellyfish can grow upto 35 inches and is the largest fish found in the UK waters. They are also called as dustbin-lid jellyfish because they grow up to the size of dustbin lids. Dead jellyfish wash up on the beaches of the UK during the months of May and June. Although their stings are not harmful to humans, marine experts warn not to get too close as they can sting even when dead! The marine life is sure interesting and a lot more complex than what we have seen and known.
