We have seen dinosaurs only on the big screens or theme parks and they seem intriguing creatures. The flying ones or the ones moving about on land, the earliest creatures on the planet have been a subject of keen interest to scientists. Now palaeontologists have made a discovery in Argentina, and it is enormous, in terms of the size. The newly discovered fossils make revelations about the evolving of the giant ones many million years ago than thought of. The fossil was discovered from the northwest of Argentina during a field trip. There have been excavations of four skeletons in all, out of which one is an entirely new species, and the other three are of related dinosaurs. Dr Cecilia Apaldetti of an Argentinian University said, "It was enormous. It was at least twice as large as the other herbivores of the time." They have named it Ingentia prima which translates to 'first giant' in Latin. This finding gives a deeper understanding of how these dinosaurs grew so large and also the existence span of them. This dinosaur apparently moved 210 million years ago around South America.

The earlier understanding of dinosaur existence was said to be 180 million years ago, which this discovery dismisses. "With this discovery, we can see the first steps toward gigantism occurred 30 million years before the giants dominated practically the entire planet," said Dr. Apaldetti.
