Sriharikota, July 22: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched India's second moon mission Chandrayaan 2 today at 2:43 pm. The ambitious project had to be called off last week on Sunday, July 15 due to a 'technical glitch'. The much-anticipated launch was aborted hardly an hour before the Chandrayaan 2 mission was about to take off. The 'Baahubali' rocket carried the 3.8-tonne Chandrayaan 2 rocket which has three modules namely Orbiter, Lander (Vikram) and Rover (Pragyan). Minutes later after the launch, the rocket successfully put Chandrayaan 2 into Earth's orbit - and huge applause was heard inside the control room as the scientists who have been working hard for the mission congratulated each other.
