Bali’s Mount Agung Volcano Erupts Again! Watch Video of the Angry Lava Coming Down it’s Slopes
About, 700 people have evacuated and fled to Banjar Galih village which nearly 6 kilometres away from the crater.
The Mount Agung volcano on the Indonesian Island of Bali reportedly erupted again on July 2, ejecting a 2,000-metre-high column of thick ash and throwing lava down its slopes. About, 700 people have evacuated and fled to Banjar Galih village which nearly 6 kilometres away from the crater. After the tragic explosion, the Indonesian geological agency’s Agung-monitoring post informed that a loud blast was heard during night before 9:00 pm (local time) at the Mount Agung and the sound lasted from more than seven minutes. The horrific moment was captured in a CCTV which shows the angry fumes coming down the hills.
Scientists revealed, “Flares of incandescent lava” reached 1.2 miles (2 km) from the crater. A local resident was quoted saying, “I saw smoke rising and the volcano rumbled very loud.” The National Disaster Mitigation Agency official Sutopo Purwo Nugroho told the local reporters that the explosions on Monday night were ‘thunderous’ and hurled white rocks from the hollow. As per the agency, this would be the third one in recent days which lasted for so long.

It was a “strombolian” eruption, said the geological agency which means it was a minor explosion. However, the experts further stated it warned people living near rivers to work on cautions especially in the wet weather because of the risk of fast-moving flows of muddy volcanic debris. In the previous week, Bali’s international airport was closed for half a day because of volcanic ash fuming down disrupting travel for ten thousand on the tourist-friendly island. The recent outbreak was the first explosive eruption since a dramatic increase in activity in 2017 that temporarily forced residents to the evacuation centres.
