If you are an avid stargazer or keenly interested in celestial events then you'd know about the oncoming lunar eclipse towards the end of July. But before that there's is another celestial occurrence on the night of July 24, Tuesday. Bright planets will line up in the night sky around 9.30 pm local time on Tuesday. Venus and Jupiter will be light up brightly and you could also spot Saturn. But it will not be exactly as eye-catching as the other planets.
The south-southeast sky will see a yellowish-white star shining with a steady glow which is Saturn. The moon will appear to be closer to Saturn as the night rises and the two celestial bodies will appear to be at their closest- about 1.3 degrees apart from low in the southwest between midnight and dawn. But one would need a telescope to spot this very clearly. If observed through one, you can also spot the rings of the Saturn. These rings consist of billions of particles ranging in size from grains of sand to flying mountains. Currently, the northern side of the rings is titled towards the earth at 26.3 degrees which is as wide a view of them can get.
