Samsung Working on New Galaxy A71 5G Smartphone; Likely To Feature Exynos 980 Processor
The Galaxy A71 5G phone will not be the first device from Samsung to feature the Exynos 980 SoC. Interestingly, Vivo X30 is believed to be the first smartphone to pack an Exynos 980 that is likely to be launched in December.
Samsung, the leading electronics giant, is reportedly working on an affordable 5G smartphone under its Galaxy A series. Likely to be called as Galaxy A71, the handset is believed to be Samsung's affordable device with 5G compatibility. According to the reports doing rounds in the market, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy A51 phone in India with quad rear cameras. Coming to Galaxy A71 5G, the Korean tech giant is expected to the smartphone in the China market soon. We also know that Samsung is working on the W20 5G foldable phone. As per the report from SamMobile, Samsung is eyeing at China's 5G market wherein the company might launch W20 5G smartphone later this month. If the market reports are to be believed, the upcoming Galaxy W20 5G phone will be introduced as a Galaxy Fold variant for the Chinese market. So, the Galaxy W20 5G will be an ultra-premium offering from Samsung. However, Samsung is also looking to offer an affordable 5G phone to attract a broader audience by launching the Galaxy A71 5G. A new media report claims that a new Galaxy smartphone with model number SM-A7160 is currently under works, which will come with 128GB of internal storage. Going by Samsung's numbering strategy for its 5G phones, it is speculated that the handset with model number SM-A7160 could be Galaxy A71 5G that will be targeted for the Chinese market. It is important to note that the global version of the phone could carry model number SM-A716B.
As we speculate that the Galaxy A71 5G will be an affordable mid-range phone, we might see an Exynos 980 chipset on the device along with 5G integrated modem. It is important to note that Exynos 980 SoC will be Samsung's first chipset with a built-in 5G modem, which was announced a couple of months ago. To be based on an 8nm FinFET architecture, the Exynos 980 SoC could be employed to power mid-range phones to make 5G more accessible for customers.
