Samsung has officially unveiled a successor of the clamshell flip phone which is dubbed as a W2019 Android flip phone. Samsung W2019 is a high-end flip phone with 6 GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor. Samsung made this announcement during an event in China. The W2019 is a successor to last year's W2018, which was powered with Snapdragon 835.
The smartphone comes with Super AMOLED display panels. It comes in two different variants- the Platinum Golden Collector's Edition and Gold Extreme Edition, both of them have similar specifications. It also includes Bixby voice assistant integration which can be accessed with long-pressing the ‘8’ key.

The Samsung W2019 flip phone has 4.2 inch Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080 pixels) display on both the sides. The body is made up of premium diamond-cut aluminium and glass. The handset has a side fingerprint sensor. Additionally, it's a T9 keypad which allows easy excess for single hand control. The phone comes with 128GB of internal storage with expandable memory via microSD card up to 512GB.
The Android flip phone comes with a bunch of connectivity options including 4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C, ANT+ and NFC. Onboard sensors include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, barometric pressure sensor, geomagnetic sensor, gyroscope, fingerprint sensor, an iris sensor, hall sensor and a proximity sensor. The smartphone comes with a 3,070mAh battery life which claims to deliver up to 280 hours on Standby mode. Lastly, the W2019 weighs 257 grams and measures 132.9 x 63.4 x 17.3mm.
Although the official price and availability details are not released yet. It is expected that it will cost 18,999 yuan which is roughly Rs. 1,98,720 for the base version. The phone is already listed on the Samsung China website and expected to be launched in other markets as well.
